2004 Broom 365

Brooms are pleased to introduce the latest addition to their range of luxury cruising motor yachts. The Broom 365 sets new standards in on-board luxury and offshore handling for a medium sized aft-cabin cruiser. The 365 is a quick, stable sea going boat utilising the new Volvo D series range of engines that bring together a new dimension in lower fuel consumption, lower noise levels and enhanced systems monitoring.

The Andrew Wolstenholme hull design has a medium 'V' planing hull with a shallow skeg/keel which allows higher cruising speeds whilst retaining low speed handling. The air draft can be further reduced by lowering the radar arch. This allows freedom to cruise unrestricted in many of Europe's finest inland waterways. As with all Broom motor yachts, customer feedback has plated a major role in the design and interior layout of the 365.

Hull Design and Construction

The hull and superstructure are manufactured by Brooms associate
company Aquafibre using stringent quality control throughout the lay-up
process. The hull mouldings are produced using hand laid chopped
strand mat and woven rovings in Lloyds approved isophthalic and
orthophthalic resin over double-brushed isophthalic gel coat, all but
eliminating the risk of osmosis. Transverse and longitudinal stringers
are incorporated for strength. The hull and deck joints are both riveted
and bonded.

Deck Design

Well laid out to provide an easy to handle and safe boat when either
mooring or anchoring. A major feature on the 365 is the easy and safe
access from both sides of the transom with more than adequate safety
rails and handholds. The side decks run outboard of the complete deck
area with a reduced slip surface and substantial 25mm safety rails.
The aft deck area has sliding access doors to port and starboard
enhancing the security aspect when cruising with children or in
inclement weather. The cockpit seating consists of a full width transom
mounted bench seat, with rotating helm and navigator seats. This
combination allows for excellent aft deck socialising.

Engines:

Standard specification provides for twin
inboard diesel units. For full details of the
engine options and performance figures,
please contact our sales team. Each engine
is fitted with full instrumentation, flexible
mounts and shaft coupling and water cooled
exhaust and silencer.

Instrumentation:

Full instrumentation with auto alarm systems, voltage, temperature and oil pressure gauges and
electronic engine stop controls. Compass, speed and distance recorder, depth sounder. Single lever
controls for gear change and speed control.

Electrical Systems:

Engine and domestic batteries have a 12 volt system. Each engine has its own starting battery and both
engine and domestic batteries are charged through diode splitters. A 240 volt main ring is installed for
connecting to shore supply when ordinary domestic equipment can be used. All 240 volt and 12 volt
circuits are protected by circuit breakers. A wiring diagram is provided with the owners manual.
